Red Red Red

Arsenal fans at their best after seeing a beautiful
performance from their men.

Some say it was a tittle winning performance and Spurs fan say it was luck. But really.. what kind of moron would think that Spurs were unlucky to lose. This said I am the new William Hill bagging myself a couple of quid in bets with my mates and it was all down to 3 crucial things.

1) The Midfield

Before the game, in my pre match blog, I stated that our midfield would play the most influential part on the game and oh boy they did. The passing was on point, the movement was quick and sharp and the vision was beyond imaginable. The sending off of Emmanuel ScumAbayor was effectively the turning point in the match. We capitalised on Tottenham's loss of player, particularly down the right hand side with Walcott and Sagna showing tremendous attacking ability. However our victory was sparked from the middle. Those dink balls over the top  between Tottenham's centre back and full back played by the wizards Cazorla and Wilshere were exquisite. Its something that often happens on FIFA but rarely in real life. It was football that left me speechless. On top of that they were in Tottenham's faces and closed them down quickly making them unable to play their so called "Brilliant football".

2) The Attack

The men up top were the best I have seen all season. Now I dont know if you remember but a few weeks back I wrote how Giroud would find his feet and settle down. Now you dont need to tell me I was right because I know it. His arial threat is like no other and reminds me of a young Zlatan. He was superb holding up play and bringing other players into the game. Walcott continuously caused a threat from the first minute to the last. His pace scared the Spurs full backs and final ball assisted a surprising header from the man I like to call Le Sac scoring his first for the club. He was giving 4 minutes at the end to prove to the gaffer that he is a centre forward where in fact he only needed 2 after excellent forward play from the Ox. Last but not least, Podolski. In the past couple of weeks he has looked off the pace and not the player that Arsene hoped to have signed, despite his goal last week. This said, his performance hit new levels. Tracking back when having to, providing support for Vermaelen and causing a threat going forward. To top it all off he scored and important goal at an important time.

3) The Fans

It has been an old football cliche to say that the fans are the teams 12th man and now I have come to realise that we actually are. Back in the day (Highbury days) the fans we like no other. Chanting name, singing abusive songs to the opposition and getting the banter flowing between each other. Week in week out we are able to get 59,000 or more fans to the games and teams like Southampton with around 20,000 fans out singing us. Since the switch from Highbury to The Emirates our noise levels have started to disintegrate and gradually get worse. Be that as it may, todays chanting, banter and noise was second to none. Once the fans got going so did the team. Urging the players forward with the favourite tune of "ARSENAAAL ARSENAAAL" was where we excelled. Then came "Adebayor whats the score?" from an overly excited group of perhaps drunk and rowdy fans.

There are of course a few defensive errors that lead to both Tottenham goals that shouldn't have been made but to stick 5 past your rivals makes up for it. This now makes my weekend a tad better after being dropped from my sunday league team for being too class. A reminder to all the unfortunate Spurs fans out there... 5-2.

A stat to prove Giroud's class - Giroud: Starts: 11 Goals: 6 Assists: 5
                                                 Tevez: Starts: 13 Goals: 4 Assists: 3
                                                 Aguero: Starts: 8 Goals: 5 Assists: 1

Keep the Faith

Up the Gunners
