FA Cup is Our Only Hope

Glory Days - Hopefully a repeat of this would be nice

Arsenal take on Brighton on Saturday in the FA Cup 4th round and with the Premier League and Carling Cup out of reach, our only hope is the FA Cup and Champions League. A double leg against Bayern Munich would be considered one of the hardest games in European football considering their class but remember in we came so close against Barcelona in 2011.  At the moment its all to play for.

We know how good of a footballing side Bayern are and the quality of their players is close to indescribable so  you'd expect a tough match and usually in games like these we dont win. As much as I love Arsenal and want them to succeed, I wouldn't bet on us beating the Germans. So realistically it leaves us with the FA cup.

It would be a dream come true if we won the FA Cup this year. Literally, last night I dreamt that I scored the winner against Sp*urs, at Wembley, in the final minute. However things took a turn for the worse when I got a second yellow card for and over exuberant celebration. It was an early walk down the tunnel for me.

Tomorrow we face Brighton who sit 7th in the npower Championship table. Playing a non Premiership team should be no problem for a team of our quality and on paper a win would be expected. However we know about those hilarious cup exits when the underdog wins and you then laugh at it due to embarrassment to cover up your anger.

If we were to beat Brighton tomorrow, there still are a few superior teams left in the competition in Man City, United, Chelsea and in the way they are playing at the moment Everton. I would say Sp*rs are a threat to us but they just aren't. They never will be! Until we draw one of those teams we should be beating teams like Brighton.

The West Ham game brought a weak first half and much stronger second. We took our chances and didn't give them time on the ball. In my opinion, the same game plan would benefit the team and will hopefully let us progress further on in the tournament. Brighton will test both our strength and character so to go into the game after coming of a 5-1 victory will be to our advantage. Gus Poyet has done wonderful things at that club and are challenging for promotion, so tomorrow could be the first sight of a potential fixture next season.

Its not called the 'Cup of Dreams' for no reason so hopefully all of our FA Cup dreams can come true.

Up the Gunners

Keep the Faith
